Jackie Craven became fascinated by 19th century architecture when she purchased her first Victorian house in 1984. Over the years, she renovated several old buildings on her street. Specializing in architecture and home design, she wrote content for ThoughtCo (formally About.com) for 20 years. Her Architecture Coach columns appeared in the online journal for Realtor.org and she also contributed home style columns to House & Garden magazine, Old-House Journal, Country Victorian, Yankee Homes, and other magazines. She’s the author of The Healthy Home and The Stress-Free Home, published by Rockport Publishers, reissued by Quarry Books, and translated into several languages.

She’s the author of SECRET FORMULAS & TECHNIQUES OF THE MASTERS (Brick Road Poetry Press, 2018) and two chapbooks, CYBORG SISTER (Headmistress Press, 2022) and OUR LIVES BECAME UNMANAGEABLE (Omnidawn, 2016), winner of the Omnidawn Fabulist Fiction Award.
