Architecture & Home Design Writing

Jackie Craven became fascinated by 19th century architecture when she purchased her first Victorian house in 1984. Over the years, she renovated several old buildings on her street. Specializing in architecture and home design, she wrote content for ThoughtCo (formally About.com) for 20 years. Her Architecture Coach columns appeared in the online journal for Realtor.org and she also contributed home style columns to House & Garden magazine, Old-House Journal, Country Victorian, Yankee Homes, and other magazines.  She’s the author of The Healthy Home and The Stress-Free Home, published by Rockport Publishers, reissued by Quarry Books, and translated into several languages.

Travel features and photos by Jackie Craven have appeared in major newspapers such as the Providence Sunday Journal, the Rocky Mountain News, the San Antonio Express-News, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Nashua Telegraph, the Boston Herald, the Springfield Sunday Republican, the Spokane Spokesman-Review, the Tacoma News Tribune, the Torrance Daily Breeze, the Toronto Sun, and the Toronto Globe & Mail. Literary Writing

Jackie Craven has poems published in AGNI, The Massachusetts Review, New Ohio Review, Pleiades, Ploughshares, Poet Lore, River Styx, and other journals and anthologies. She’s the author of SECRET FORMULAS & TECHNIQUES OF THE MASTERS (Brick Road Poetry Press, 2018) and two chapbooks, CYBORG SISTER (Headmistress Press, 2022) and OUR LIVES BECAME UNMANAGEABLE (Omnidawn, 2016), winner of the Omnidawn Fabulist Fiction Award.
